Lady and the Tramp...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This was my absolute favorite cartoon movie growing up. It's about a refined cocker spaniel from a good neighborhood finding love from across the tracks. A pedigree of good standing falls in love with a mutt.

The reason I enjoy this cartoon movie so much is as a child I got the albun and story that went along with it and listened to it over and over and over.

My wife loves animation movies. I don't mind the odd one or two but these days there's a flood of them. Not much quality, just quantity.

She gets too hungry, for dinner at eight
She loves the theater, but doesnt come late
Shed never bother, with people shed hate
Thats why the lady is a tramp

Doesnt like crap games, with barons and earls
Wont go to harlem, in ermine and pearls
Wont dish the dirt, with the rest of those girls
Thats why the lady is a tramp

She loves the free, fresh wind in her hair
Life without care
Shes broke, but its ok
She hates california, its cold and its damp
Thats why the lady is a tramp

Doesnt like dice games, with sharpies and frauds
Wont go to harlem, in lincolns or fords
Wont dish the dirt, with the rest of those broads
Thats why the lady is a tramp

....and frank sinatra, too....
wonderful!!!

Very nice, Carmen. That was another dog's role in the cartoon.

I had the soundtrack for "Alice in Wonderland" so it was my favorite when I was little. My sister and I had choreography (which was actually running and twirling around the room with our hands in the air) for most of the album.

It's nice to do stuff like that.

The Jungle Book was my favorite...and to this day- I still get the song "Wanna walk like you- talk like you" (sung by the ape) stuck in my head :)
Oh- it brings back so many great memories :) I haven't watched that movie in ages...
I think I need to see it again soon :)

I haven't seen my favorites in a long time either.

Me be terribly afraid of all Disney movies. Talking creatures are very frightful and Mickey Mouse is a six foot rat to me.

When me was growing up and we used to see two dogs in love all the women would pull out the garden hoses and chase them away. That were good fun.

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life

Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
That's why a bear can rest at ease
With just the bare necessities of life

Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Next time beware
Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don't need to use the claw
When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue ?

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

So just try and relax, yeah cool it
Fall apart in my backyard
'Cause let me tell you something little britches
If you act like that bee acts, uh uh
You're working too hard

And don't spend your time lookin' around
For something you want that can't be found
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin' about it
I'll tell you something true
The bare necessities of life will come to you

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep and sound
knowing I am around
Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist
Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me

Most of the Disney movies were great right up until they started grinding out the cookie cutter movies like Beauty and the Beast.

I like Robinhood and Lilo and Stitch (actually one of the cookie cutter movies). Some of the pixar/Disney movies are good too.

Little Lamb said...

Disney is not what it used to be.

Scary Monster said...

Actually the Scary Monster is a fossilized hard boiled egg.

Me prefers looney tunes to Disney. Me believes that Daffy Duck could take out Donald in a New York minute.

Little Lamb said...

You look Christmassy with your red and green color, Scarey.

I love Looney Tunes. I really like Tweety. He's a cutie.

My favorite Disney film was "Robin Hood." Loved it!

Happy Easter, Carmen.

MS, I never got into Robin Hood. I liked Peter Pan.

Hi LIttle Lamb, this was also my favorite. You know Disney, they bring them back out for sale about every seven years, and then they archive them for awhile. Ana was two, and this movie was not for sale at the time, a video store had one copy and for $100. they sold it to me. But we wanted Ana to see it at the age she was, I was afraid by the time they brought it back for sale she might be too old to enjoy it. To date it is the most I have ever paid for a movie...

Little Lamb said...

Hi Nea! We have something in commmon, not only do we both have blogs, but we both enjoyed Lady and the Tramp. That's a lot of money to pay for a cartoon, but I'm sure it was worth it! I bet Ana enjoyed seeing it didn't she?
