Remembering what months have 30 days and which months have 31 days..

I have trouble remembering which months have how many days. So yesterday I made a list of months and how many days in each

January.......31
February.....28
March..........31
April.............30
May..............31
June.............30
July...............31
August..........31
September.....30
October.........31
November.....30
December.....31

Believe it or not, I am trying to memorize this.

I did find another way.

Thirty days has September. How many remmeber that rhyme? Raise your hands and say "Me, me! I remember that!" Well I don't. I should memorize that too. I found it on a Nursery Rhyme site. Here it is:

THIRTY DAYS HAS SEPTEMBER

Thirty days has Septmeber,
April, June and November.
All the rest have thirty-one,
Saving February alone,
Which has twenty-eight, rain or shine.
And on leap years, twenty-nine!

What to say???

I never know what to say here. This is my personal space online. And I don't know what to put here. Gee whiz. I have wanted my own site but I never knew what I would do. You know what? I still don't know what to do with it. I guess this is my space to play around with. I think I may be getting the hang of this blogging. You've got to press all the buttons and see what they do.

Another thing I always wanted was my very own forum where I'd be in charge. But who would come to visit and post there? I do know a few online people, but is it enough to start a forum with? What would I do if someone gave me a hard time?

I don't have leadership qualities. I don't have a following like some do online. I tell people about my blog and some even come to see it, but don't leave comments.

What is one to do? Any suggestions?

Snake and Hamster - Best Friends...

I thought this was quite interesting.

Wed Jan 18, 3:58 PM ET

TOKYO - Gohan and Aochan make strange bedfellows: one's a 3.5-inch dwarf hamster; the other is a four-foot rat snake. Zookeepers at Tokyo's Mutsugoro Okoku zoo presented the hamster — whose name means "meal" in Japanese — to Aochan as a tasty morsel in October, after the snake refused to eat frozen mice.

But instead of indulging, Aochan decided to make friends with the furry rodent, according to keeper Kazuya Yamamoto. The pair have shared a cage since.

"I've never seen anything like it. Gohan sometimes even climbs onto Aochan to take a nap on his back," Yamamoto said.

Aochan, a 2-year-old male Japanese rat snake, eventually developed an appetite for frozen rodents but has so far shown no signs of gobbling up Gohan — despite her name.

"We named her Gohan as a joke," Yamamoto chuckled. "But I don't think there's any danger. Aochan seems to enjoy Gohan's company very much."

The Tokyo zoo also keeps a range of mostly livestock animals, and promotes "cross-breed interaction," according to Yamamoto.
But Gohan and Aochan's case was "was a complete accident," Yamamoto said.

Computers

Computers run our lives. They get us to buy them and take them home and set them up. And then we want to play with our new toy. We find an Internet Serivice Provider so we can spend lots of time online with our new toy, looking up stuff or playing games online. Or chatting with online friends. Then one day it happens. Nothing works right. We got all used to coming home from a long day at work and going online and one day we can't all of a sudden because something happened to our beloved computer. We spend a lot time fixing it. I haven't had that problem yet with this computer because it is still newish. Computers are nice to have and can be very addictivie.

Animated Lambs...

Someone said, " I just can't think of anything Dyckerson-worthy to write about. And I'm not going to write about anything stupid, like a restaurant waiter who looks like Fabio...or a pussy-whipped 5-year-old kid...or my sleeping habits...or animated lamb avatars.. I ask you, wha tis so stupid about animated lamb avatars? They're rather cute if you ask me.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThis smiliey is trying to get to sleep by ccouting little lambs. The smiley's eyes are wide open. That's no way to count lambs. You're supposed to have your eyes closed. I used to count sheep, but my sheep were jumping over a fence but would cheat by going underneath someitimes

One way to count sheep may be to group them all together

And then count, but that would be very hard to do. How would you know if you counted them more than once?

Here is a mother sheep caring for her lamb.

My avatar. I ask you is this avatar orange or light brown?

How did ya'all like this post?

MIning Accident...

I want to comment on that Virginia mining accident that left 12 dead and one in critical condition. I understznd that these things happen. Mining is a dangerous job. But someone should be punished severely for telling those families of the dead ones that they were ok, just to say, "Oooooooooops! Big mistake! 12 of the miners are dead!"

Thinking that loved one is still alive after that explosion perhaps was a temporary relief. The lovdd ones may have been thinking, "I will hear about the explosion after their rescue." And then comes the three hours later, after anticipating their safe return to their lives, "Oooooooops! Someb0dy goofed! 12 are dead." That must have been AWFUL, to say the least. I can't even imagine the grief those poor families must be going through. I don't think the families will get over this too soon.

I blame the reporters for this. They just should have stayed away until someone knew something either way. I think those 12 deaths would have been easier to accept if they weren't given false hope.

Sometimes I think the reporters will do anything to get a story, even talk to grieving people who should be left alone in their grief. Give the grieving people some time to get over their loss and then talk to them. Do they do that? No. They have to get the story and report it because afterwards may be too late and no one will be ineterested. I say hogwash. Let the grieving ones grieve and then let them tell you whatever it is they want to share when they're ready. I will wait until then if I may.

I made a mistake. It was West Virginia and not Virginia.
