School...

Well I finally did it! I finished school. Today was my last day. I completed all my assignments. Now all my teacher has to do is check my work. I asked, "what happens now?" They post my grade on or around the 18th of this month. They will send me a certificate after that. I will be invited to an awards ceremony in May. I want very much to go to that.

Now I have my me day back. I can relax on Mondays. It seems like with work, school, and church I'm very busy.

Ok, yes I do have to look for my dream job now. I will be keeping my eyes open for that. Right now, we're in a recession and jobs are hard to come by. If I see something I'm interested in, I'll apply. If something should happen to my present job, I have something to fall back on now. I will keep looking in the want ads online. I will keep checking my employers current jobs. I've worked too hard and too long to give it up.

I'm looking forward to the awards ceremony!

Yippee! Yahoo! Congatulations to our smartest Lamb ever!!!

Its a wonderful achievement and you deserve to be very proud.

I hope you find that job right away but if you don't find it in six months time (sometimes recessions can be a real pain) then consider spending half a day a week volunteering for a charity to do the kind of work that you want to do. This way you will keep those skills fresh - using switchboards, computer skills etc.

I do hope and pray you will find it long before you have to do that.

Go Lambie Go!!! What a brilliant ball of wool you are!

Little Lamb said...

Anna-lys, I'm happy I won't have to go to school, but sad I don't have a sit down job yet.

It's ok for the typo. I do it all the time.

Phos Good afternoon.

Boney, Good afternoon. I do, don't I?

Hi Lambie!

I added a link between your blog and mine.

I'm glad you can forgive me for sorta being a jerk last month. I was going through a pretty rough period and I overreacted; I'm sorry.

Little Lamb said...

Hi Indigo!

I emailed you about that. Stuff happens in all our lives.

I also added you to my blog.

The Phosgene Kid said...

How's the search for the ultimate sit-down job coming??

Little Lamb said...

Sniff. It's not. Nothing is out there for me right now. Sniff.

boneman said...

It was something goofy that I thought she had done, but in fact, she didn't do it.
I guess my next guess is it's something to do with the pop-up-blocker.
Maybe....

boneman said...

By the way. Despite what you think, you are NOT looking for a job.
You are wanting offers.
That's better than just having a job.

Little Lamb said...

Right now the time is not good to leave the security of my present job. At least here.

boneman said...

That's right, and you don't have to leave a job to get an offer from another company.
What you want is for businesses to want you enough to OFFER something to you that you want. A car, benefits, good starting pay, a really nice chair to sit in....

Little Lamb said...

How do I become that desirable person they want?

boneman said...

jonesconnell@att.com

You share with them the attributes you have that they need.

Little Lamb said...

What attributes do they need?

boneman said...

It's not to complicated, but takes a dedicated and enthusiastic person to achieve it.

How bad do you want a sit down job?
Are you aware that you can get a sit down job at any Walmart as a greeter?
I'll betcha that's not what you're after....

boneman said...

....hello?....

....is anybody in there?.....

Little Lamb said...

No, I am not aware that I can get a sit down job as a greeter at Walmart.

No, its not what I'm after.

As of now, I cannot give up certain things my present job has to offer, like medical and dental benefits. With my present job I also have short and long term disability insurance in case something happens to me where I can't work for a certain time.

At my age one never knows what will happen.

Even if an office job came my way in everything I went to school for, and didn't offer benefits, I couldn't take it.

boneman said...

did my last comment not take? Stupid interweb connection.....

OK, so, what do you want?
I wasn't sure what your shool was, either, being as where I used to only get at the computer machine once a week....

Little Lamb said...

An administrator assistant job. I know Microsoft Office 07, that's Word, Excel, Power Point and Access. I am computer literate, I can copy and fax. I can answer phones. Stuff like that.

boneman said...

Anything else? Something not as many people have to bring to the table?

Little Lamb said...

I'm very dependable and I come to work on time. After I know the job, I can do it all. Not everybody is on time.

boneman said...

I always used to be late. It was a thing...I dunno. Had so many jobs where they would try to nip THAT in the bud right off and I wouldn't have that job anymore.
To my way of thinking, promptness doesn't count high.
On the other hand, that's not the sentiment of most employers, so, you're in luck!

I know you have a resume on the ready, yes?
Maybe you want to use it, maybe not.

Tell me first, did you understand what I meant about how you want offers....
and,
Is that a direction you can take?

Little Lamb said...

I think I did understand what you meant on the offer thing, maybe not. I can't do just anything to get them. Maybe I should get my name out there now somehow. Yes I do have a resume. I do want to use it. I also have a portfolio which I will use.

The Phosgene Kid said...

Keep at it ll!!

Lambie - on the Boney stream of conversation...I used to temp between film jobs and all the temp agencies had PERMANENT office jobs available too. So...you could look for employment agencies, call them up and send your resume. Then ask them to meet you (interview you). Once you've met them, they will send you out to interviews.

However, they won't send out the silent sheep. You have to keep calling them and ask them (at least once or twice a week) if they have any interviews for you.

Keep at it LL. There is a great office out there waiting for you so they can make you an offer.

PS - One thing you have, if I understand your current job correctly, that other people don't have is LOTS of Direct Customer contact and Sales, no?

That might help you position yourself for a job working as an assistant in a sales type of office - real estate, insurance, advertising...etc...etc...

Phos, okie dokie.

Angel, Thank you.

Indigo, thank you, you too!

Pink, I may try that. I don't work on the floor, I work in the back. So many options.
