Vacation...

This is not the time to be thinking of a vacation, but I sort of am anyway. I like to do absolutely nothing on vacation. I like to relax. What do you think I do on vacation if I'm home? I go online. I'm always doing something with my computer, whether it be looking up stuff online, going to forums or reading blogs, or playing games. Or just sitting there and wondering where to go next.

Vacation time is time to do the stuff I don't get a chance to do while I work. Days off are not the same. Sometimes you have a lot to do on your days off. Work really gets in the way of just having fun. But, alas, one needs money to live and eat.

lots
of people
from canada
go to florida
for a vacation & to winter -- i would like to see florida one day -- where do you vacation, little lamb?

/t.

Little Lamb said...

I know. The snowbirds will be coming down soon, and not just from Canada. Are you French Canadian?

I usually vacation in church if we're having something special, or at home. I went to Texas once for a few days to see my uncle's place.

Where do you vacation, /t.?

Anonymous said...

not
french

i live in
southern alberta -- out west near the rockies, about an hour north of montana -- this year (like most) i vacationed here at home -- the wife worked me like a dog :)

/t.

Little Lamb said...

That's only fair. You stay home and she works.

Anonymous said...

i do

have worked
for myself since 1982,
mostly working from home

sometimes i have to work 'on-site', and sometimes that means travel -- overnight or two, usually -- i'm not real keen on travel for too far or too long, and that, in part, is why i like to vacation at home

/t.

Little Lamb said...

You're sonething else. You sometimes travel, and usually work at home. You vacation at home too.

And you say I'm the interesting one. Maybe we're both interesting.

Anonymous said...

hmmmm,
perhaps,
little lamb,
but i never thot
about it as particularly interesting

my neighbour, for example, now they are interesting -- they have all kinds of interesting things, like a car and a truck and a boat and a camper and a motorcycle and a airlane and a helicopter and a dune buggy and a submarine and a harrier jet and a battleship and a saturn 5 rocket and a m16 machine gun... yes, i always thot americans were the truly interesting ones

/t.

Little Lamb said...

How could they have a submarine?
A real one? How can they have a helicopter? How can they have a battleship? Are you sure you're teling me the truth?

Anonymous said...

absolutely,
little lamb...

americans have all
of that stuff (except maybe for the harriers) plus plus -- it's what makes you americans the most interesting people on earth

/t.

Little Lamb said...

You said this person was your neighbor, not an American. I don't know of anyone who owns a helicopter or battleship. A private plane, yes, a yacht, yes, but a submarine and battleship, no.

Anonymous said...

americans
are my neighbours
&
everyone knows you guys
have battleships and helicopters, little lamb -- it's not top secret any more -- so cut the innocent act, sister

/t.

Anonymous said...

you
probably
have bazookas,
too

/t.

Anonymous said...

so,
what are
you going
out as for
halloween???

an american

/t.

Little Lamb said...

I knew it! You're making all this up. You have no such neighbor. Nor do you know anyone who has a submarine and a battleship and a helicopter. You're trying to pull the wool over a lamb's eyes.

Little Lamb said...

I'm staying home. I'm not going out.

Anonymous said...

yeah,
you got me,
little lamb...

can't pull the wool
over an orange lamb's eyes...

i'm staying home, too, to eat all of the kids' candy

/t.

Little Lamb said...

You guys don't have Halloween, do you?

Anonymous said...

yes,
we dress up
like americans
and knock on doors
of strangers and impress the heck out of them -- it's great fun!

/t.

Little Lamb said...

You do not.

Anonymous said...

sometimes
they give us
candy, but mostly
they just tell us to
go home...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

That's not true. When my parents and I lived in Mewfoundland for the summers, anytime we went to visit the neighbors they always begged us to stay.

Anonymous said...

ahh,
yes...

newfies...

cannibals, little lamb... with a taste for americans

/t.

Little Lamb said...

cannibals?

They liked American cigarettes.

Anonymous said...

yes,
cannibals

& notorious nicotine fiends

got some great seafood & fiddle music out there, tho -- i like 'em almost as much as americans

/t.

Little Lamb said...

If they're cannibals, how come they didn't try to eat us?

They do like their tea and liquor. Not together, of course, to my knowledge.

Anonymous said...

well,
little lamb,
i'm guessing that
you (wisely) did not
accept their invitation
to a whole family sleepover

/t.

Little Lamb said...

We were never invited to one. Them being cannibals jusr isn't true.

Anonymous said...

perhaps not

but rumours persist

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Yes, rumors do persist. Rumor also has it that Canadians live in igloos and travel around in horse and buggy.

Anonymous said...

i've
heard that

it's all true,
little lamb

/t.

Little Lamb said...

YOu live in igloos? You have horse and bugygs? What's it like in an igloo?

Anonymous said...

it's cool

/t.

Little Lamb said...

What happens if you start a fire in one, does it melt?

Anonymous said...

no.

fire
can't melt,
little lamb

/t.

Little Lamb said...

no fire cannot melt, but the igloo can.

Anonymous said...

oh, right.

well, we light
a fire in the spring
and then we have a shower

canadians like to bathe in the spring after out long, dark, and very, very cold winter

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Why do you light a fire in the spring?

Anonymous said...

light fire...

melt igloo...

have shower in melting igloo...

/t...

Little Lamb said...

You would figure you'd just let it melt and bathe in that water.

What do yo do for shelter after the igloo melts?

Anonymous said...

we dogsled
on down to
florida

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Stop by my house and say "hi."

Anonymous said...

or,
i could
swing by
your pasture
and meet Dolly7 -- i'll bring the BBQ

/t.

Little Lamb said...

If you do that, Dolly will bite you and growl and snarl. She doesn't like you at all. Nor does she trust you at all.

Anonymous said...

you're right,
little lamb...

dolly7 is too unfriendly
to be trusted at our BBQ

still, it would be unkind to invite all of the lambs except dolly7... what do you suggest, little lamb?

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Dolly does not want you to eat her. She wants to feel safe around you. Maybe if you try talking nice to her. She may even let you feed her if you say the right words and try to be friendly with her and be nice to her.

Anonymous said...

sure,
that might work

or perhaps i should
just bring a shotgun
and we could all go hunting -- we could invite dick cheney, too

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Oh dear! You're planning on something that includes the vice president. I don't think that's a godd idea. Dolly said she'll stay home.

Anonymous said...

well,
probably not
a good idea to
plan something that
involves your vp and firearms...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

No, its not a goof idea. Not unless you know him personally, then its a different story.

Anonymous said...

hmmm,
i'm not
so sure about that,
little lamb -- i think
i'd feel around dick cheney with a shotgun a bit like dolly7 around me with a BBQ... one difference, tho -- dick cheney can eat me

/t.

Little Lamb said...

There is no difference. You can eat Dolly. She doesn't want you to. You've been mean to her in the past and you're going to have to make up for that if you ever hope to gain her trust.

Anonymous said...

ok,
i see
now where
the difficulty is,
little lamb -- i don't want her trust or love and affection... i want her ribs, chops and roasts

does this clear things up?

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Yes, that does clear things up.

Do you realize what that means? She will forever be afraid of you. She will never trust you. If you come near her at all, she will do what she can to protect herself. Is that what you want, /t.? A vicious lamb?

Anonymous said...

yes.

it's war, then

/t.

Anonymous said...

may
the
best
man
win
!!

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Poor Dolly. Poor /t. I like them both. What am I to do? My blog mate wants to eat my lamb. My lamb wants to eat my blog mate.

Anonymous said...

what are
you to do?

for starters,
don't put any money
on the lamb to win, place, or show, or survive my onslaught -- i'm hatching a diabolical demise for her even as you read these chilling words, little lamb -- blood! blood! there's so much blood!

MWAAH HAHHHAHA AHHAHA AHAHHAH AHAH HA AH HAH AHA HA HA AHAHA HAHAHAHAH AHAHA HAH HAHAHBA AHAHAH AH HA HAHAH AHA AHHAHA HAHAHA HAHA HAHA HAHAHAHAH AHA AHANBAHAH AHAH AHHAHAHHA AHAH AHAH AHAH AHAHHAAH AHAHHA AHAHAY AH HA HA!

/t.

Little Lamb said...

**sob** /t., how could you? You're the one who named her. How does that make you feel? You named the very lamb you're going to war with. What kind of person is that? **sniffles, sniffles**

(I gotta find a way to make this into a post. It's very entertaining)

Anonymous said...

absolutely,
little lamb...

picking on dolly7
is absolutely the most
fun one can have (fully clothed, i mean)

you should make a post -- i can help you with it by coming up with something terrifyingly vicious, cruel and sadistic for dolly7 -- gladly(!) :)

/t.

Bird said...

are you planning on vacationing in an igloo, little lamb?

if you do, i suggest you avoid /t's igloo.

are birds invited to this BBQ /t? i might drop by if cheney isn't there. although, i really have nothing to fear from him - he only shoots his friends.

but i might have to be careful around you /t. do you like roasted bird?

be careful -terns are known for their mid-air fighting skills. we are ferocious.

will there be fish at the BBQ????

lambie - really, if you go on vacation, you'd best take dolly with you - and get a new shepherder and protector for the rest of the flock.

Little Lamb said...

Good point, Bird. And good question. Dolly will be coming with me. I guess I'll just have to protect her myself.

No, Bird, I am not planning a vacation in an igloo. /t. said he lived in one.

Seymour can protect the lambs.

Anonymous said...

fish...

don't think
i know many
fish bloggers...
why is that do you suppose?

as for roasted bird, have never actually tried roasted tern -- can't say that it sounds very appetizing, tho -- you should be ok, bird, and you know you're always welcome at ll/t. events

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Roasted chicken is always good. Let's have that.

Anonymous said...

Rosted lamb is always good, Let's have that.

/t.

Little Lamb said...

I would rather have roast chicken. Or how about roast beef or roast pork?

Anonymous said...

yes,
we don't know
any bloggers who
are cows, so we could
probably do roast beef without upsetting anyone -- good thinking, little lamb

is dolly7 happy now?

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Yes, but she still doesn't like you.

Anonymous said...

i can
live with that

here is a recipe
you might like to try:

Traditional Haggis

  1 sheep's pluck (stomach bag)
  2 lb.. dry oatmeal
  1 lb. suet
  1 lb. lamb's liver
  2 1/2 cups stock
  1 large chopped onion
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, Jamaica pepper and salt

Boil liver and parboil the onion, then mince them together. Lightly brown the oatmeal. Mix all ingredients together. Fill the sheep's pluck with the mixture pressing it down to remove all the air, and sew up securely. Prick the haggis in several places so that it does not burst. Place haggis in boiling water and boil slowly for 4-5 hours. Serves approximately 12

/t.

Little Lamb said...

I HATE organ meat!

Dolly does NOT want to try that recipe at all!!!!

puerileuwaite said...

You two may want to consider separate vacations. Just sayin'.

Anonymous said...

little lamb,

i know dolly7
would not want to
try this recipe -- was thinking more of trying this recipe with dolly7

pug,

thank you for your considered advice re zeno-relations, but i thought you were out of the biz

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Pug, you may be on to something. I think that is a VERY good idea.

/t. Dolly does NOT want you to try that recipe on her. She may just try and BBQ you one day, so I wouldn't get to close to her if I were you, just a suggestion. Sh3 has a nice human recipe she can try. She just may replace some of the ingrediants in your recipe.

Anonymous said...

a recipe
you brought back
from newfoundland
very likely...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

No, the recipe you gave me to try. Dolly was thinking about replacing the lamh's stomach for a human stomach.

Anonymous said...

i
didn't know
lambs were like that

we learn something new every day, little lamb -- i always though sheep were herbivores

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Dolly has no choice but to turn into a meat eater because someone wants to eat her. Normally she's a very cuddly and affectionate lamb, but not with you. You turned her into a vicious meat eating lamb.

Anonymous said...

cool!

/t.

Bird said...

goodness!

lamb - i have no objections to roasted chicken - i eat that myself quite frequently.

i do think you and /t have taken this to an extreme.

gut recipes on a blog? that's pushing the bounds of polite society indeed.

when is the BBQ? i'll attend even with impolite society. but i won't eat any stomach innards - human or otherwise.

let's have crab at the BBQ - that's my favorite.

perhaps /t can do a dataset on the entrails - now that would be some poem by nari. hmmmmm....

Little Lamb said...

/t, Dolly is my watch lamb. And she loves Frankenlamb.

I like your way of thinking, Bird. I loce crab myself. It's a favorite of mine. I also like chicken. I prefer the dark meat.

Anonymous said...

well,
perhaps bird
is right after all,
little lamb

too far -- time to bury the hatchet in dolly7, er, on this matter of dolly7, i mean

maybe if i were to try to get to know her better -- how about a day out to visit an abattoir in your area?

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Do NOT bury the hatchet in Dolly. With Dolly, yes, in Dolly no. And no abattiors.

Anonymous said...

little lamb,

you know i would
never really harm
little dolly7 -- who
then would i pick on???

/t.

Little Lamb said...

The Lounging Lamb?

Anonymous said...

so you
have a bit
of a dark side,
little lamb...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

What makes you ask, er, or rather say that?

Or should I ask.

What makes you think so?

Anonymous said...

well,
you're suggesting
that i could always
pick on the lounging lamb if i were to kill dolly7, and so...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

If you harm one piece of wool on that sheep (Dolly) you WILL be sorry. She's already a good watch lamb and shepherd for the lambs.

Anonymous said...

your
dark side
kind of comes & goes...

sort of a wishy washy dark side if you ask me

/t.

Little Lamb said...

If I had or have a dark side I either would tell you about it or keep it from you.

Anonymous said...

ok,
i'll leave it
at that then...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

I can be wishy washy really good. It's something I'm very good in.

Anonymous said...

sometimes
i think i'll
try do something
about my being wishy
washy, but then again...

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Oh, you just don't know. My parents always said I never gave them a direct answer. It's very rare I take a stand on anything.

Oh, by the way, I'm doing a post about you and Dolly.

Anonymous said...

a new
post about
me and dolly7?

oh goody!

is it ready now?
.
.
.
how about now?
.
.
.
now?
.
.
.

Little Lamb said...

It's ready and I think I should delete it. It's dumb. Look at it and let me know what you think before anybody else sees it.
