Stuff and Things...

I don't know what to write about or post. So I thought I just write. Or should I say type? I do have stuff and things to say, hence the name of the post.

So here goes:

I think they're starting school too early. They're starting school in August. They have started school in August in Florida for as long as I can remember, as far as I know. I could be wrong about this. Actually, to be honest, I d0n't know when they started to start school in August. What bugs me about our school system is they pick up the kids too early and get them home too late. Our kids seem to go to school where its the furthest away. If you live by a school you don't go to that school. They take you to the next town. Go figure. When I go to work the kids are going to school. When I come home from work they're coming home from school.

My hours have been cut at work so maybe I'll beat the kids home when school starts. I just get out an hour early. I don't mind, it gives me more sit down time.

On the way home from church I noticed a driver behind me. I wanted to get over to the next lane, and when I did, that same driver got behind me again. I thought that was strange because everybody is always trying to pass me and cut me off. They really want to get me. This driver didn't. This driver showed some manners. We made the same right turn and then they truned again and I thought that driver was being considerate, something that I don't usually see. I really appreciated them not cutting me off.

I guess that's it for this time. Ok, now I talked to you, now you talk to me. Simple and easy. Now what do you have to say to me?

I cannot stand it that school starts in August. I think the may 25 to sept 4 is much better.

So much school time is just wasted anyway.

Nice to see someone else had a mundane kind of day. My wife is a teacher and she definetly thinks they start to early and end to late!!

/t. Stalkers?

Hammer, School starts here on August 20. When I was growing up it always started after Labor Day.

Kid, but they get lots and lots of days off in between.

When I don't know what to write I:

1) People watch at the nearest Starbux

2) Write "I don't know what to write...I don't know what to write...I don't know what to write" repeatedly for the next 7-10 minutes until an idea or topic pops into my head.

3) Watch the news, especially The Daily Show (Comedy Central)

But in order to avoid all of the above, I keep a little notebook with me and make sure to pay attention and take note to any ideas that pop into my head throughout the day. That stuff is usually comedy gold (or blogging gold, whichever way you want to see it.)

Now there's an idea. Thanks for stopping by and come back anytime.

i have to admit...my brain being what it is...I was afraid he was stalking you too!

Little Lamb said...

Who? I have a stalker? Where is he? What does he look like? Why is he stalking me?

I think they speak of the courteous driver, eh?

And, it's good to see you survived the deadly driving statistics, again!

Now for some trivia...you may or may not like...
In Japan, they start school at age four ( FOUR?!?) (yes...4)
...and the mother goes with them for the first two years.
Dang! I'll betcha wouldn't like that August to June shtuff REALLY there, eh?

Little Lamb said...

I'm thinking that, too, boneman.

Deadly driving stats? Driving on Wednesday between 3 p.m. and 3 a.m.?

In Japan they seem to work a lot, too.

At a young age its nice to have mommy around.

I know this past school year it was betwwn August and May. The year before I think it was August to June. Probably because of hurricanes. We do get those on occasion.

the reason your kids go to school so far away is a misplaced act of PC to equalize education. i agree with the equalization but not the methodology. starting i august is so the teachers months off are the cooloer summer months. schools used to, and should start after labor day.

yes lamby! i too am a rare florida native. i can remember when florida was a wild gator land. can you?

Little Lamb said...

Dan, good point.

She, I'm not a native. I was born in Chicago. And the equalization of education would be great if these kids actually learn something.

The Phosgene Kid said...

Don't be a fool stay in school!!! I don't think I have ever lived anywhere long enough to be considered a native. I usually claim WI, though I wasn't born there.

Little Lamb said...

You traveled around for a living at one time. Where were you actually born?

The Phosgene Kid said...

New York, but I was only there a few years so I don't have any real claim.

Me thinks you have to get bigger bumper stickers on yer car. The guy probably just wanted to read what you pasted to yer rear.

Boneman~ Ya might want to buy a new trivia book. Kids in Japan start school at six, just like in the states. At four they be makin mudpies in kindergarden.

STOMP.

Little Lamb said...

Kid, I didn't live in Chicago very long, but I still claim that as my birth place.

Scary, I don't have bumper stickers on my rear. Maybe I was going the right speed for this person, or maybe he recognized my car for some reason.

You have kids? I thought it was goats who had kids. You're enough of a package for any package deal.

And your post title reminded me of the funeral home in the artsie-fartsie part of town: "Death 'n' Things".

Little Lamb,

...or maybe it was me that followed you... maybe i recognized my dinner (with a nice chianti)... or maybe i was just looking to sticker bumper...

Pug, I don't have kids. I don't know if that's a compliment or not, but I'll take it as one. Thanks.

Death and things - good grief!

Lector, it's people you're supposed to eat, remember?

puerileuwaite said...

Well, you look great, even if you did have kids. And yes, it was a compliment, my Little Lambydoodle.

Little Lamb said...

Well thank you, Puggy poo.

The Phosgene Kid said...

She's too young - that's what's wrong with the world today, lambs having lambs!!

Little Lamb said...

Thank you, Kid. Oh to be young again.

boneman said...

DANG! I'm back and I'll bet'cha y'didn't even miss me, did ya?

(same name, same sense of humor, different address)

Little Lamb said...

BONEMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes,I did miss you. I want your email address. I clicked on your link and noticed you deleted your blog. I was disappointed. Please please don't ever leave me.

The Phosgene Kid said...

Hmmm... Separation anxiety.

Little Lamb said...

Kid, I guess you're right. I get attached to online friends very easily.
