This is an owl I saw on the way to work. I have never seen an aligator in this pond. Sneaking up on the vulture. Shhhh! Unsuspecting vulture I have never seen a vulture like this before. Look what I found! A blue bird! Different birds!
Your "blue bird" is having one heck of a time. It is the Great Blue Heron, ...Seems that when they winter there, up here they keep building into their areas, and then they come back here, and you folk down there start building in the nesting areas. Poor things. By gosh, a decade or so later, we might actually make this bird extinct (except in prisons. er... zoos. The flock of white birds beneath the Great Blue Heron are white herons. I got to see three of them scrounging around the LPGA by Jeanie's house, where the road people had just ripped down a two lane area of grapefruit trees and small orange trees (tangerines?) They were friendly. (me too, from the looks of the size of this comment) You knew that was a pelican. Hungry looking, too. Watch out fooling with vultures, gal. They eat dead things, but their genus is PREDATOR. They are a distant cousin to the eagle. Well, too much time...too many words... Thanx for sharing the birds while they are still here and alive. d=^))
Boney, i didn't know that was a blue heron. I thought they were bigger. Yes,the pelican does look hungry. think he was waiting for a boat to stop by and throw him some food.
Dang! Pug's one quick dog! Course, he's right, you know. Just the other day someone flipped me the bird. But it was one of those precooked chickens from the grocery store. Yum... You're lucky, Lil Lamb. That you like birds and live in Florida, about all you have to look out for is invisible gators, grills, and snakes. Course, Jeanie says to just throw empty dog food cans at them and they go away. I think she meant the snakes, but, what the heck. If you see a grill, pop one of those cans upside its cover (CLANK!) and it might roll away...
Lamby dear, these are beautiful photos of the birds near where you live, the great blue heron is lovely. There are owls in the nearby forest where I live and many water birds as there is a river close by. I am pleased that you have not seen an alligator in that pond, they are dangerous and I don't like vultures. xoxoxo ♡
Thank you, Dianne. I'm glad you like them. Maybe the alligator and the vultures were having a meeting, or maybe the alligator died and the vultures gathered together to eat him, who knows?
is that a telephone camera or a camera with a flash? (not exactly a soup question) If you have a real camera, force it to flash when you get real close to the vultures... the flash will get details you can't see normally in the daytime.
Uh...you DO have a stick with you when you do that sort of photography, don't you? I mean I know Ravel wrote some beautiful piano pieces for people with only one hand, but...we'de rather not see the vultures get any "Lamb Stew"...
hey. That almost sounds like a song! Still... just a stick wouldn't hurt. (well.. the BIRD if it gets agressive..)
You were sneaking up on that vulture, but did you notice that a gator was sneaking up on yu? But, you lucked out... He was just taking a picture of you. d=^)) Which reminds me, Sparky got a picture of YOU when he was showing me the flowers. You were acting skinny...(good job) and ignoring the grill in the garage.
You and all those folk living along that great swathe of land have such pretty flowers in the Spring. Do they go "boinnnnng!" when you sniff them? (Spring?)
Wait. The last time someone was known for raising pigeons, it was "The Birdman of Alcatraz". If you can assure me it will be fun and not have a prison vibe, then I may "come home to roost".
It will be fun! We won't go to prison for raising pigeons. I not only can assure you of it, but can guarantee it! Ummm, but I don't think you should tell Black Bart about this.
Lamby, I like your style! Most kidnappers would simply opt to PUT me in a box. But if you plan to supply alcohol and POT me in a box, then you had me at "Hello, I'll be kidnapping you now".
Well then, I consider you a Scooby Do mystery that I aim to solve.
(BTW, did you try to send me pics or a slideshow at one point? I finally went through my email and something from you showed up as spam. If they were real, you should try again. I'd like to see them.)
It's been so long since my last post, blogger has changed. I have an idea for a new post, I just have to do it. I just have to figure out how the new blogger works. II don't deal well with change.
(personally, that sounds like a good idea, at first, because I was getting tired of hearing Turn, Turn, Turn) (that's a song by the Byrds, for you younger folk)
I'm just kidding (no he's not) if you want to leave the same thing up forever, that's OK with us (no, it isn't) because we still like you even though some of us are going vegetarian. Not MEAN vegetarian, mind you. Dang. You know how you can click on links at other blogs and go places? Well, I clicked on the paties, and I didn't go anywhere. So, I clicked on bacon and a bunch of mean vegetarians showed up and yelled at me! So, I definitely stopped clicking on the bacon.
I guess I'm loosing interest in blogging, but I don't want to delete the blog because I don't want to loose contact with the bloggers I've met. Does that make sense?
I do wonder what would happen if you clicked on the eggs?

Was that the Blue Bird of Happiness? If so, he was supposed to visit my place.
By the way, never tell people in traffic that you like birds. They end up flipping you the bird.

little lamb,
you're a bird watcher!
and an alligator watch out for!
but you realize that this post brings to an end your longest not posting streak... and you were so close to matching the pug's record, too!
well, it's good to see you back in the saddle, LL -- i hope you bring us many more of these always delightful bird posts

what pretty birds..
Pug, I'll have to find the blue bird again and send him your way. If it will only happen that way)
Boney, I have seen garden snakes here. We have bigger snakes here, too.
/t. Maybe I can try o match Pug's non posting streak another time.
Foam, Thank you.

I only throw empty dog food cans at snakes.
Does it work?
Not so far. I have lousy aim.
They slither away to quick for you.

(well.. the BIRD if it gets agressive..)
The only picture I took with my phone camera is the first picture. The rest of them were taken with a regular camera. I didn't use the flash.
Those vultures are more afraid of me than I am of them. The older ones stick around but younger ones fly away. They only go after dead things.
well...if you're moving real slow...
I f you walk slow. Hmmm, I don't know. I want them to know I'm ALIVE and not DEAD.
birds like you, LL :)
Yay!! Its good to see you posting again. I missed you.

No, I didn't notice any gators! Had I known, I would have kept walking. Gators taking pictures of lambs? I better watch out?
I always ignore grills! I try to be skinny, but it doesn't always work.
I haven't had any spirng flowers go boinggggg yet. Ha ha!
hey LL,
it was a lovely
late spring day here,
so i let my lamb out for some sun

You have a great summer, too!
Then you would like my balcony. There's a pigeon in one planter sitting on 2-eggs. It's a good thing I still have eggs in the fridge.
Ooooooooooooooh! That gives me an idea. We should get together and start raising pigeons! We can have our very own birds!
Wait. The last time someone was known for raising pigeons, it was "The Birdman of Alcatraz". If you can assure me it will be fun and not have a prison vibe, then I may "come home to roost".

Chicken is good to eat.
Here is an update: 2-eggs hatched, so now I have 3-freeloaders on my balcony.
Maybe we can train them to be homing pigeons!
We? You made this normally hard-boiled canine blush. As long as it's "WE", we can train them to smoke and rob banks for all I care.
Ok, it's all settled. We can train them to be homing pigeons and send notes to each other.
We can train them to find you and then I can pot you in a box and kidnap you.
Lamby, I like your style! Most kidnappers would simply opt to PUT me in a box. But if you plan to supply alcohol and POT me in a box, then you had me at "Hello, I'll be kidnapping you now".
I'll let you think that, but hat we'll really do will remain a secret.
Well hopefully you'll let me in on it at some point.
We could eat cream and play games. Among other things. ;-)
I'm not sure about cream, unless you place ice in front of it.
However, I do like the idea of other things, as this Pug likes to keep his entertainment options open and mysterious.
What I meant to say is ice cream. Oooops!
I like being mysterious to keep you in suspense.
Well then, I consider you a Scooby Do mystery that I aim to solve.
(BTW, did you try to send me pics or a slideshow at one point? I finally went through my email and something from you showed up as spam. If they were real, you should try again. I'd like to see them.)
I don't think that was me. I also think I don't have your email address any more. Can you give it to me again?
studpug@gmail.com
Thank you, After I told you I didn't have it anymore, I found that I did still have it. Do you still have mine?
No I don't. :-(
I will have it if you do email me.
Well Pug, that makes me very sad. You don't have my email address. :-(
You have a good solution to that dilemma. (Is that how you spell it?) I like it.
ok,
enough
of this flirting

Thank you for stopping by. All is well. I guess I'm just being lazy on posting.
I thought maybe you were going for a new record.

You know how you can click on links at other blogs and go places? Well, I clicked on the paties, and I didn't go anywhere.
So, I clicked on bacon and a bunch of mean vegetarians showed up and yelled at me!
So, I definitely stopped clicking on the bacon.
No WAY am I going to click on the eggs.
