Runaway vulture...

This vulture doesn't seem to be so brave. He didn't wnat me to take its picture. He's caught running away. Maybe he doesn't want to be caught goofing off, or working overtime on the job. I have reason to believe they're hired by the state or county. Vultures are a protected species. You have to get permission to kill one of these birds. I'd hate to corner one of these things. And it also seems to me they hate getting their pictures taken.

no, /t., I don't think you should.

That vulture sure is 'camera shy', he looks as if he's running away fairly quickly there Lil Lamb, nice action shot. ♡

the vulture is afraid of the big bad sheep ...!

Little Lamb said...

Dianne, I had to take that picture quick because he wasn't going to pose for me.

Foam, Probably.

Perhaps he's just pacing? His wife is in the bushes there behind him, and she's giving birth to brand new eggs?

Practicing for the Boston Marathon?

Tired of flying and trying out a stiff walk, instead?

Suddenly afraid of heights?

Looking for a pink wig?

Waiting for something to die cause he's very, very hungry? (don't get too close....)

Trying to work off breakfast?

Running to get some make-up on for the camera?

When I approached, I saw him eating something.

boneman said...

well then. He didn't want to share. It's settled.
How rude, I'de say, perhaps he should be kettled.
Ship him across the border
where /t will cook him to order,
And when he next eats, he'll pay attention to where he has mettled.

(?)

d=))

I don't think there was anything left to share. When I started out on my walk, there were three vultures, when I came back this one was by himself.

dianne said...

At first there were three and now only one vulture, he's leaving the scene of the crime Lil Lambie...what a bad and greedy vulture...you stay away you might ne next. ♡

dianne said...

That was supposed to say 'be next', Lol /t. might be right there is something wrong with my eyes. ♡

I've noticed how vultures are. They flock together to feast. I believe the bigger and stronger ones eat first. Then they leave and the other get what they want and the group keeps getting smaller.

boneman said...

Still, it's a good picture, for sure.

Little Lamb said...

Thanks, it shows that these birds can walk.

Maybe he thought he heard an ambulance.

Little Lamb said...

Or maybe he did something wrong and didn't want to be blamed for it.

i think
that he ate
the other two birds

Hmmm, I wonder? I did see him pick up something black.

dianne said...

Thats what I said, he ate the other two birds and was leaving the scene of the crime in quite a hurry, just look at how fast his legs are running and he has a guilty expression on his face. ♡

i still think the poor little vulture was afraid of the big bad little lamb who was stalking it!!!
beware of stalking lambs i say .. !!!

Dianne, It makes one wonder. He was probably either slacking on the job or working overtime and didn't want to get caught.

Foam, I don't think they like their picture taken.

dianne said...

Maybe he was having a 'bad feather' day. ♡

Little Lamb said...

He does look smaller than the other vultures I took a picture of. Maybe he needs to learn to stand his ground.

Or maybe, as you suggest, a bad feather day, who knows?

Are you burning birds?

boneman said...

If /t is grilling the vulture, it's OK.
I did a little investigating from an old timer in town and he tells me that if they hop, they're not that good for eating.
But, if they walk?
Chow time!

So, just send your favorite recipe wants to /t and it sound's like he'll fix you right up!

("really nice stuffing, /t,")

(" oh? What's 'stuffing' ....")

Little Lamb said...

I never knew one could eat a vulture.

boneman said...

Well, that's entirely up to you, Lil Lamb.
If it was walking, according to at least one old codger in Indiana, it's OK.

Personally, I have second thoughts about even telling you.

Here's why.
A squirrel eats nuts all its life, bark and nuts.
I'm told they taste wonderfully nutty.
Even a little greasie.

But, a vulture?
Well, it seems they eat dead things...
How could that taste?

Little Lamb said...

I don't think I'll eat a vulture.

boneman said...

yeah.
Just stick to taking pictures of them. Course, don't give them a shot at eating you, either!

Little Lamb said...

I guess in order for them to eat me, I'll have to be dead ans stinking.

dianne said...

Lol at Boney, what old codger told you that story and what difference does hopping and walking make to the taste?
They look pretty scrawney to me, probably as tough as old boots...what do you do boil one up in some stock with some rocks for a couple of days then throw out the bird? :)

I wouldnt eat one either Lil Lamb, just stick to shooting them with your camera and dont get too close. ♡

Little Lamb said...

That sounds interesting, Dianne.

I thinnk it's cool that you always take pictures of vultures. :)
