Reminiscing

Strange...

On the way home tonight, it was dark out and I was thinking to myself back to the BIG hurricanes we had a couple of years ago. On the way home back then when I got into my neighborhood I would be looking for signs of electricity and listening for the dreaded, but much needed and useful generators. If I didn't hear the generators chances are we got our electricity back. I would eagerly watch for any kind of light on in a house.

Tonight, I did see lights on in every house as usual. I settled in expecting it to be an ordinary Thursday night. I had Survivor on and was looking through blogs. I was sitting here in front of my computer minding my own business, eating my dinner, playing solitaire, when all of sudden the lights went out!

It was pitch black. I couldn't see anything. I reached for my cell phone because it had light. I used that to find my flash light and I didn't remember where I put the flash light batteries. I turned the flash light on and there they were inside the flash light. Good thing, I didn't know where I was going to look anyway.

I found my way to the living room and sat there. I was doing that for a while, and then the old familiar sound of generators came on. I decided I was going to go to bed. After that was decided the lights came back on. And here I am telling you this story while it's still fresh in my mind.

I was thinking back how we would get the laptop out and go online. That reminds me that I should keep that battery charged in case something happens like this again.

I'm going to bed for real this time. Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite and sweet dreams.

You are a very well prepared little lamb (as well as a good speller) - two qualities I admire.

Carmen, I was in the dark. I was surrounded by it.

jali, thank you. I consider that a compliment.

OK, LL, your story IS dramatic and ...very sad...
i like it very much, LL...

but, on the other hand, what you need is a blaze in your fireplace...and we may be your guests of honor...and we bring presents ( lamblobster and things)...and we play games (how big your eyes are , granma)...and bring my friend , pepe the hypnotist, too...and other happy etcs for you , LL...

Little Lamb said...

No thank you, Carmen. I'll end up in the fireplace.

carmen said...

LL, don't be paranoid about flames and blazes...
pepe may cure you...after several hypnotic passes...you'll turn into a flame eating lamb..

Little Lamb said...

And burn to a crisp and then no more Litte Lamb

crispy lambs are sometimes superior to rare lambs like you...
