I've been looking forward to this weekend for a while. I normally have Sunday and Monday off. This week I have Friday and Saturday off too! A 4 day weekend. I love it! My doctor has been wanting me to get a colonoscopy done. I did that today (Friday). It really wasn't that bad. The bad part was the previous day when I could only drink liquids and eat jello and drink that awful tasting stuff.
Someone took me to the surgery center, I signed a few papers, talked with the nurse, got changed, got in bed, and they tended to me, wheeled me into the room where they would do the colonoscopy, gave me oxygen turned me over, the iv started to feel cold and burned, the guy who was giving me that stuff said it would be cold and it would hurt a little and I was out. I came to, woke up a little, they asked me what juice I would like, I told them grape juice, and then I got dressed and had some coffee and a banana muffin and went home.
I've been groggy all day. I was told to rest the rest of the day and I did and I even had some food.
The doctor gave me a clean bill of health. That's good. I have a history of cancer in my family. I may not die of cancer, but of something else. Who knows what? I'm not worried about it. I'm going to enjoy life until its time for me to go.
Tomorrow my church is having our Christmas banquet. We will be serving Prime Rib and Stuffed Salmon. I'm looking forward to it.
