Well, Windows is doing it again, they're upgrading to Windows Vista. I remember when they came out with Windows XP. That was when I bought a new computer. Wrong time to buy a new computer. Some of my old programs did not run on XP. It was a nightmare. This new Windows Vista seems like its going to be a bigger nightmare. I think you have to register it and prove you have an original copy and certain programs, anti virus programs don't run on Windows Vista. It's better to wait until all the bugs are worked out and I hope I don't have to get a new computer soon.
Why does Windows have to be such a pain? Why not just keep to the old Windows? Because they won't make any money. It's always about money.
I hate any kind of change, (except money change) and don't deal with it very good. (except money change).

i'm
with you,
little lamb,
and even if it
sounds a bit cynical -- i think it is always about the money with these people, too
(money change is good, though)
/t.
Thank you, /t. We agree on this at least.
if i was
using winXP
and it was working
for me, then i think
i'd do just what you suggest, little lamb, and wait -- wait for the bugs to be ironed out (always takes a year or so) and maybe wait longer -- as long as your winodws is working for you, it's good.
i'm still using win98se, waiting for it to stop working for me (tho this year microsoft has stopped support for it, so upgrade time is near -- i'm thinking of going to winXP -- it's solid)
/t.
You better hurry up then or you may not be able to get XP once Vista is the official Windows, I don't knwo how that all works. I'm hoping I don't need a new computer in the near future. So far I don't. Time will tell.
yes, yes - money change.
i will change my money
for bill gates' money.
perfect.
I like that, Bird. He's the richest man in the world.
/bark bark bark
the solution is obvious. switch to Mac or linux
/grrrrr
They have Windows for Mac too. But that sounds like an interesting idea, k9.
K9 is right (boy, was it TOUGH typing those words!), Lamby. Make your next computer an Apple or Linux-based system.
Microsoft Vista is just a regurgitation of their earlier crap.
So really what new value do you get? And does it justify the expense?
You pay for THEIR enhanced ability to more tightly control what programs you run, with more intrusive safeguards to make sure they're getting every cent of revenue out of your machine that they can.
The best strategy? Keep your existing PC and XP OS for as long as you possibly can. Then go to Apple or Linux.
Good idea pug. Right now I don't need a new computer, the one I have is fine. I hope it stays that way for a long time. Maybe I should try a mac. But I don't have to make that decision just yet.
forget mac,
little lamb...
you'd do better to
hold out for Radio Shack to bring back the TRS-80 Model I from 1977
every wonder why they make the macs run Windows, but nobody bothers to make PCs run MacOS?
right
/t.
As if that'll ever happen.
Windows is the tool of the thought police.
Along with Bill Gates.
Wha? Lamby just called Bill Gates a tool? I didn't know this blog was Rated PG!
Actually its rated G I think. I'm not sure, though.
