One year long ago in the last century my parents had a place in Newfoundland, Canada. They went up there every summer and lived up there in sunnertime. I went with them a few times. One year on the way home fall had hit Canada late September, around the time of my birthday. As we were travelling we saw the most beautiful color of leaves on the trees. Our cameras were packed away in our luggage someplace. We didn't get pictures of those leaves. (DRAT!!!!) They were spectacular, like you've never seen before, or at least I haven't. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Dad has a very good friend who has a summer place in Maine. The leaves were beautiful there too. Not as good as Canada, but beautiful none the less.
Isn't that pretty?
My parents do not go there anymore, they sold the place after mom got sick. In all our trips up there we have not seen leaves change like that since.

New, old ... who cares? I think it's wonderful that you found something in Canada worth writing about. And leaves, no less!
I'm going to faint if you say they were in fact, MAPLE leafs.
But I kid. Any place exotic enough to call a season "sunnertime" IS worthy of a visit.
Oh, and I had a winter place in Maine, but I really don't like to talk about it. I HATE friggin' timeshares!
But I wonder, if the camera was in your luggage instead of around your neck, then where the hell did you carry your underwear?
Just teasin', Lamby-cakes. This was a BEAUTIFUL post. One of your best. Very touching.
Thank you pug.
another
good one,
little lamb --
colorful picture and descriptions!
those aren't maple trees -- i have one in my front yard -- park my dog sled team under it
/t.
Thanks /t. What kind of dogs do you have?
Lamby, it's a dog sled team, so I think the answer is obvious. They're poodles.
pugs
Good combinaton, poodles and pugs.
I'll take some photos for you of the Maine folliage when we climb Chick Hill next weekend, Lamby.
