SURPRISE!!!

An actual post!
Yesterday, Monday I walked to the store. One notices more on foot than one does when one drives. Actually the reason I walked is because traffic was awful! I decided to walk. And beside, walking is good exercise. An exercise I should do more of, not that I will, mind you. On my way to the store I notice this peer. I don't know how long its been there. A long time ago there was only a small peer there and its grown! I thought it was interesting and decided to take a picture. I've learned to keep my camera with me.

On the way home, I saw this little bird. In case you don't know by now, I like bif\rds. I don't think he/she knew I was there.

Oh, you van bet your walking shoes that the lil white he/she heron bif/rd knew you were there.

Great scavengers, actually...they were widening the LPGA in Holly Hill when I was there, they tore down two lanes of trees for the road, and one of them was a grapefruit tree.
I walked back and got a big bag of them for Jeanie...she said they were sweet.
There were three white heron bif/rds there...and while I'm sure they were sort'a sad that their trees had been torn up, they were also chowing down big time on grubs and bugs pulled up by all the destruction.
They didn't really look at me, but always knew where I was...I would walk slowly towards them (camera at the ready) but then they would "peep" and all three would scurry off about ten feet or more.
HA!

I always figure most animals know that I'm harmless...but, no sense in taking a chance.

You live in a cool state.
Well, if they would stop firing teachers and building so many roads, that is.

The bird didn't try to fly away and I didn't want to scare him/her. That one was alone.

We have too many roads to begin with. We keep expanding and growing.

Beautiful photos dear Lamby, what a nice place to live. That bird is so cute, we have herons here as well as I'm not that far from the river and the mangrove estruary where they feed.
It is amazing what you can find and notice when you walk instead of driving as you aren't so distracted by the traffic.
That pier looks interesting too, it would be nice to walk along it and get a better view of the vegetation on the river bank, it looks lovely and very green, so too does the grass. xoxoxo ♡

Thank you, Dianne. I think the bird is cute too.

I'd like to walk that pier. It does look interesting.

LL,

this is indeed
one of your best posts
&
such a lovely pier -- peerless, i would say -- i could peer at your peerless pier all day, LL, but i have to leave to peel a pear -- or two -- a pair or pared pears on par with your peerles pier

looks like a nice place for a bbq(!)

× × ×

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Spelling errors. What is one to do?

This really would not be a good place to have a bbq at all. So much can catchg fire.

boneman said...

you don't suppose that's a pay to fish pier, do you?

Little Lamb said...

Hmmm, I don't think so.

I like the first pic.

I wanna be there.

Ruela, me too! Let's go!

/t. You might have an idea there, /t.!

The bird is cute and interesting! But that's no pier ... that's a wannabe bridge!

Little Lamb said...

Thanks! and thanks for the visit.

You could be right about the pier.

darkfoam said...

i bet during parts of the year a walk down that pier would be unbearable due to mosquitoes.
i do like how they use solar panels light the lights on the pier.
it's a nice photo, little lamb.
and i always like your bird photos too .. :)

Lol at /t., I think he has a bad case of the P's. When he said he was leaving to peel a pair or two I thought he was going to say he was leaving to take a pee, maybe he could pee off that peerless pier of yours but then someone might peer at him or peek. :) xoxoxo ♡

Little Lamb said...

foamy, you may or may not be right about the mosquitoes, but when I walkw=ed past there it was pretty windy, but I was above it on the bridge. Thank you for liking my photos Foamy. You and I probably like to look at pictures.

Dianne, /t.'s a real character! Entertaining, too!

Anonymous said...

i got a million of 'em

dianne said...

Yes /t. is a real character, loaded with personality and charisma and very entertaining.
I'm sure he wouldn't pee off of your peerless pier as he is too much of a gentleman. xoxoxo ♡

Little Lamb said...

/t. I'm sure you do.

Dianne, I don't know about that.

Looks like an Egret to me. We even get them out here (Cattle Egrets). You should walk down to the pier and do some fishing...

Little Lamb said...

I think it is an egret.

I should do some fishing or at least walk the pier.

puerileuwaite said...

Wow. Not only is the pier incorrectly oriented, they also spelled it wrong. Where DO you live, Lamby?! On that island from LOST!?

puerileuwaite said...

Also: do egrets ever have regrets? Inquiring pugs want to know ...

I'm ssorry for spelling it wrong. SDo lambs have to spell everything correctly? Inquiring lambs want to know.

I don't know if egrets have any regrets. Do they even know about regrets?

boneman said...

I'm so very sorry for you, your home, and your beautiful birds, Lil Lamb.
I think you should go and enjoy them while you can.

Little Lamb said...

Why are you sorry for me?

boneman said...

there's oil coming to your shores, soon. And I know you like the birds.

Little Lamb said...

Yes, the oil is on its way and I do like birds. Hopefully someone will clean the birds off before they die. They need to get all this oil cleaned up!

The Phosgene Kid said...

The oil soaked pelicans keep bursting into flames every time I put them on the grill!!

Little Lamb said...

poor pelicans. Maybe you should stop cooking them and let them go free.

Anonymous said...

they say
lambs wool
soaks up oil

/t.

Little Lamb said...

So does human hair.

Anonymous said...

cats, LL

the answer is
a boom of house cats

:)

Little Lamb said...

that's mean.

Anonymous said...

yes,
tho i'm sure
you will agree, LL...

not as mean as a boom of lambs

× × ×

/t.

Little Lamb said...

that would be just as mean!

Anonymous said...

i just worry
that there might not
be enough pelicans for the job

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Pelicans are not the answer! Human hair is.

I think Lon has them hidden in his bedroom.

boneman said...

this hippie just chopped his mop, so, count me out.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't want to be dunked in the bay head down.
Sharks, you know...
