We actually had an exciting day at work today. I can't believe it! Normally it's the same thing day in and day out, very extremely boring. Today was not like that. It started out to be, but didn't end up that way.
About an hour or so before lunch someone was screaming and yelling loudly. We didn't catch what they were saying right away. I thought this person was having a fight with someone. So I perked up my ears to listen to what was going on. What was being said was "There's a fire in the store! THERE'S A FIRE IN THE STORE!" We've been told what to do if this should ever happen. We were told to go into the store. We all wanted to see what was going on. It was all smoky in there. We were going to leave through the front door. We didn't do that then because someone said it was just a fire extinguisher that went off. So we went back to work.
I work in the back room. All the back room doors were open so we could get rid of the smoke that was in the store.
Someone called the main office and told them what was going on. They said for everyone to leave the building. We did through the store. But I went to the break room to get my lunch. No telling how long we'd be waiting to find out what our next move would be. Everything was ok after two hours so we went back to work.
I only hear about stuff like this happening. I've never experienced it.

/t.
Silly /t. How can I do that if it happens suddenly?
I would have carried you out of the burning building, but you'd probably send me back in to save your lunch.
Oh that's sweet. But I'd also send you back to get my tea and water.
So....what was for lunch?
Got any left?
I had leftover pork and tomatoes with pringles wheat sticks. No, I have none left. I had the pork after we were able to get back into work.
you eat cute lil piggies?
indigo incarnates
we get bomb threats at the courthouse so often that the incidents don't even make the news. usually we just evacuate the building for half an hour. the bomb-sniffing dogs mosey on through the building, then we go back to work. ha ha ha!
I really enjoyed the excitement. It was a true break of a very boring job. And besides, I got sit down time, too! :-)
I'm pleased that you're safe Lil Lambie, when I first saw "there's a fire in the store", I thought t/. might be lurking around with his grill all fired up for you. ♡
Thank you. I think /t. was thinking about a bbq.
Many years ago I was crossing the road in a zebra crossing with traffic lights and nearly got run down by a speeding get away car from a robbery, they came so close they almost knocked me down... I could see the guy in the passenger seat had a stocking over his face and he pointed his gun at me,I got such a shock, it really scared me...I will never forget it. ♡
That had to be scary!
Dianne's comment/experience has me rethinking my Australia relocation plans. I thought the place was crime-free, like Florida.
But let's hold that thought.
For now I am also concerned about the so-called "Sunshine State". Upon a more thorough examination of this post, I suspect that a certain lamb may know a wee bit more about this fire than she's letting on.
Is Little Lamb a "Little Firestarter"?
1) How did Little Lamb KNOW to bring her lunch with her into the parking lot?
2) Was Little Lamb secretly video taping the fire from the parking lot? If so, a close examination of Lamby's comments on the audio could prove to be extremely revealing.
3) Do mysterious fires seem to closely align with Little Lamb's whereabouts? Is that why vultures seem to follow in her wake?
4) Is lanolin flammable? Can it be used as a difficult-to-detect fire accelerant?
5) Was the fire a "smoke-screen", intended to cover up an even more sinister crime? Were items missing from the vending machine BEFORE the fire, or did the firemen feast on them while fighting the blaze?
6) Does Little Lamb secretly "have it out" for Boss Lady?
7) Was Little Lamb engaged in any shady insurance transactions prior to the fire?
Inquiring pugs want to know.
Florida crime free? When did that happen? What about all the gangs?
Sunshine state? Where's that? We have different weather than any other state, or so it seems.
Little Lamb is not a firestarter, but did enjoy Stephen Kings book by that name.
To answer your questions,
1) How did Little Lamb KNOW to bring her lunch with her into the parking lot?We were told about the fire ahead of time. Someone thougght we were having a fire, but we really weren't. I had time to collect my belongings.
2) Was Little Lamb secretly video taping the fire from the parking lot? If so, a close examination of Lamby's comments on the audio could prove to be extremely revealing.
No I was not secretly taping the scene.
3) Do mysterious fires seem to closely align with Little Lamb's whereabouts? Is that why vultures seem to follow in her wake?Hmmm, I wonder?
4) Is lanolin flammable? Can it be used as a difficult-to-detect fire accelerant?Hmmm, I don't know.
5) Was the fire a "smoke-screen", intended to cover up an even more sinister crime? Were items missing from the vending machine BEFORE the fire, or did the firemen feast on them while fighting the blaze?Good question.
6) Does Little Lamb secretly "have it out" for Boss Lady? We're on good terms. We had dinner together the other night.
7) Was Little Lamb engaged in any shady insurance transactions prior to the fire?Who me?
Glad Yu survived the BBQ
Was /t. around?
He said he missed it. It makes one wonder.
i'm here for the bbq ..
Too late!
i'm here for the leftovers then ..
surely the peach cobbler is not gone?
Ooooops! I don't like peaches so I threw it away after everybody left. Sorry.
Leave it to LL - the place could be burning down around her and she stops to rescue her lamb burger so she can eat.
That's right!
food is
very important
to a little lamb
but not so much peaches
¤ ¤ ¤
/t.
Why not peaches?
because you don't like them..
and
you threw them away
:)
Oh, ok.
It's so sad.
You eat lil piggies...
So, whats a pig sty in the sky?
(I dunno, you make a judgement about someone from the words they use, and, for some reason, there's a picture of you in my head...so sweet and gentle. I can hardly imagine you wolfing down a tenderloin with a grin on your puss, mustard bottle in your paw....)
Huh?
Oh yeah...did I remember to ask you, What's a pig sty in the sky?
I don't know. I also eat chicken. One does have to eat.
What's a pig sty in the sky?
That's where the swine flu.
What? Too soon?
Now its all starting to make sense.
you'll
see swine flu
when pigs fly
¤ ¤ ¤
/t.
/t. the swine already flu.
there you got it!
d=))
There's hope for me yet! :-)
Smoke in LL's store = /t.'s grill making covert, covered approach. Drop da peaches and RUN ;)
Not to worry, all is said and done. Everybody's fine.

I wanna take a picture first.
No time for a bbq.
Take a quick picture!
There's always time for BBQ!!!
No there isn't!
/t.'s gone so phos will have to bring his grill to the bbq ..
There is no bbq anymore. it's all been taken care of and everybody missed it.
Aw, I was looking forward to some peaches. ♡
If I had known people wanted some, I would have saved some.
well then .. how about strawberries?
you got any strawberry shortcake?
you could make some for us.
I don't like strawberry's either.
now I know why sometimes /t comes by here and just goes hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Hmmm, that's a good question.

I may be able to do that.
peachie meringe pie
I like meringe but not peaches.
Kiwi jello??
I don't believe I've ever had that.
can't say that that sort of thing never happened to me... once my oldest son almost blew me up... well that's life! it's just important not to panic, otherwise you might really not be able to save the day...
Your oldest son almost blew you up?!!?? And all you have to say is "well that's life?!??
How about a lemon meringue pie, they are really delicious. ♡
Sounds good to me! :-) ♥
i don't like meringue pie ..
You don't? You don't get any then. More for me.
