Could someone please explain it to me? Will I ever understand it?
Let me say this first. I view people of all races as equals. It may not be that way in the real world, but that's how I view my fellow human being. I work with Whites and Blacks. You have some Whites and Blacks that work very hard. You also have Whites and Blacks that are very lazy. I've worked with both. In all races you have people that kill each other and work hard together.
To me, if you belittle someone by calling them a nasty name like Kramer did at a comedy club, or Imus did a basketball team, that's just it, belittling them. Calling them a nasty name. I think we should all learn to get along and not call out names.
Kramer used the N word. That word can also be used to describe a White person. It means an ignorant person. Whites can be this way too. Blacks use this word to each other all the time.
To me this is called name calling. It may go deeper than that, though, to some people. Is calling a person of a different race a name racism? If I'm wrong, please enlighten me. I want to know what racism is.
I looked up what racism is. Its a race thinking they are better than another race. I'm no better than anyone else.
Imus didn't say anything new. The men of that race call women of that race that name in rap.
Let's have it this way: If you don't people calling you certain names if you are of a particular race, your own race shouldn't do it either. Fair is fair. If one person can say it, so can another of a different race.
Let's be the people we are and act like it. We should all treat each other as equals of all races, after all we all live on Planet Earth.

The golden rule?
Ah, but where do the outlaws and pirates fit in?
STOMP unto others....then split!
They have to live that way too, but Scary, maybe your way is better.
All you can do is treat others as nicely as possible and hope you don't wind up apologizing to Rev Al Sharpton - though he wouldn't bother with the likes of us because there isn't enough press.
I hate "N"s of all ethnicities.
There is only one race...human.
Unfortunately people like to seperate themselves outside of that classification.
kid, I guess to Al Sharpton we are only peons and not worth any time.
hammer, I couldn't agree more.
I was going to comment but I think I'll save it for a blog.
I guess I'll have to wait then.
There are actually many races - NASCAR for one...
sure,
formula one,
indy, NHRA...
/t.
kid, and you probably have all sorts of racism in Nascar.
/t. NHRA?
Don't forget the Kentucky Derby!!
I love horses.
Horses YUM!
Scary Monster! You wouldn't eat my horses would you? You are scary!
I'm offended if anyone uses hateful words -
I don't understand the justification some use, "well this group says it so it's okay for me to do the same". Are people unaware of the protests of many women concerning the use of language and images unflattering to women of color? The women of Spelman College in Atlanta http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2004-04-23-spelman-protest-rappers_x.htm did just that. These protests continue.
Let's say that someone beats their spouse but doesn't go to jail. Does this give carte blanch to a stranger to beat that spouse? The excuse, "but they did it" doesn't stand up.
The women he spoke of aren't scantily dressed in a video - they are scholar-atheletes who did NOTHING at all besides winning a B-ball game.
What if it were your 19 year old daughter? (I say this to everyone - not to sweet LL)
ahh,
this is about that idiot radio host
i agree with jali -- he publicly called some college girls whores -- what he said was worse that that, but on that alone -- if he said that about my daughter, i'd be tempted to punch him in the mouth
you have other issues today -- 20+ dead in virginia in yet another american tragedy (but bush tells you the rest of the world envies the usa?!?)
/t.
well, i...
I like what you wrote, jali. Maybe I can start to understand rascism. It is more than just being called a bad name.
I love this post, Little Lamb. There's just no place for racism in the modern world. There's so much going on in the world today, and we're all in it together.
Thenk you, Serana. We're all in it together as one race, too.
I hate racism in every form. But it sure seems to me that today everyone can get away with it except for white people. Everyone should be ostracized for it.
That's how I feel, Dan.
The point is moot anyway. The earth will be ruled by apes in the future - I saw it in a movie and it had Roddy McDowell so it has to be true.
raycism...the science of sunrays...
besides i am a man ray fan...
I loved Planets of the Apes!
You won't think it is so great when they become your overlords!!
Wonder whatever happened to ol' Roddy anyway?
I was wondering the same thing. He died of lung cancer in 1998. He was one good actor.
Now he just plays dead...
always
found his acting
to be a bit wooden
you know, kind of stiff
moreso now, tho
/t.
kid, he was a good actor. I loved his accent. I loved him.
/t. there was nothing stiff about him. You just want to hug and kiss him.
oh...
Roddy McDowell
well, you're right, little lamb...
i thought we were talking about Woody McDoweling
sorry
/t.
Who the heck is that?
woody mcdowelling = ANDY MC DOWELL, LL...
he has developed an obsession...with her beautiful hair...i post her image in notgrog...an image with a twist...
A hair obsession?
When Imus called those female basketball players "nappy-headed hos", I was shocked...!
...I didn't know Don Imus was still alive.
Yes, Crash, he is still among us.
Racism is ignorance. The end.
How are you, Lambie?
Good point, Enemy. (who is no enemy of mine)
I'm doing good. How about you?
