Repeatt?

Anonymous said...

little lamb,

you left this
over at crash's blog

a typo, a misspelling of the word repeat -- the t repeated -- this is visual poetry -- kudos to you!

/t.

Little Lamb-
I'm sorry I missed your Lamb flag from Wed- it is wonderful! Especially the pink one on the end-
I also love the gray Lamb...(he's the one with the drug problem, isn't he?)

When I was a kid and spelled something wrong- my teacher never called it "visual poetry"...she gave me a big red X!
I kind of wish /t had been my teacher :)
I can't spell worth anything after all these years- so instead of growing up feeling ashamed of my shortcomings (and I am SO short!) I would have smiled at all the visual poetry I'd made!

Well- from this day on...I'll see things in a new lightt :)

in a
most subtle way,
the repeating 't' in

  repeatt

visually realizes the meaning of the word -- if you say the word, the double (repeating) t sound then sounds the meaning of the word -- this might be an example of what geof huth calls a pwoermd ( a single word that is a poem )

mayden, it doesn't work the same in lightt ( unless someone can make a connection between light and t ) -- but it's a darn good try :)

if anyone wants to know more about visual poetry, geof huth at dbqp blog has posted a good, basic introduction:

  Varieties of Visual Poetry

which introduction also includes some discussion of the pwoermd lighght (see too, comments)

/t. thanks, I realized the meaning of the post after I saw it here and then went to Crash's blog. You saw it as visual poetry. Also you saw it as the meaning of the word repeat.

Mayden, You are forgiven for missing the lamb flag. It's still there if you want to comment on it.

I, too, got a big fat red x on the words I misspelled at school. I am a good speller, except when it comes to typing.

I too think /t. would make a good teacher.

/t. thanks for leaving that site on your response.

yes,

in fairness,
pug saw it, too

it is all the more remarkable for being a simple typo -- i mean, if you'd typed repeet, for example, it doesn't quite work -- if you'd typed any other variation, it probably would not work -- repeatt is perfect!

but, remarkable for a typo because these things are really, really hard to do well -- hard to come up with a pwoermd (poem-word) that really works well

geof huth is a master of the pwoermd -- check out his blog:

  dbqp: visualizing poetics

for some great examples

check
the sidebar

...

but there is something funky in the sidebar (been there for a long time) -- it's ok, but one of these days i'll go through it and try to fix it

/t.

Little Lamb said...

Thanks. What's funky about the side bar?

Anonymous said...

there
is a divider
line in BLOGS
that shouln't be there -- usually under About the Author...

something amiss in the stylesheet or coding structure of the sidebar -- simple, but it could take a while to find it -- meanwhile, it doesn't interfere with operations

/t.

Little Lamb said...

I don't see it. You do. I don't know what you've done, but if you want you can fix it.

Anonymous said...

hmmm,

i can see it
with firefox, too

what browser are you using today?

/t.

Little Lamb said...

firefox. I see a line above About the Author and underneath Blogs. I see the same line underneath Websites and Previous Posts and Archives.

the choir director here at the church is always trying new ways t'get the singers to pronounce last consonants and when I showed him yer double teed repeat, he flipped!

Then he caught a plane fer California.

Oh well, jus' me'n'the dogs fer a bit, till he gets done wine tastin' and such.

Nice lamb collection, y'all.
The first (ok, maybe second) comment said something about the cute pink lamb (I noticed it was the only one in step) and then made comment about the gray one being on drugs...

I went back and searched the flag three or four times, lamb by lamb, and saw no gray lamb 'tall.
I was gettin' ready t'look again when suddenly, for reasons I cannot fathom let alone spell, and saw the cute lil begger on the right side of the posting stuff.
And, DANG! Was it ever jumpin'!
But, y'all can help, y'know.
Try decaf in he future.
